Our draughtsmen are fully computer literate in various software packages such as Autocad, Autodesk & Revit. Our one draughtsman is quite a success story – Thabo Mahlaka arrived at Bramasole in January 2007 to start his apprenticeship as a bricklayer on one of the building projects. He quickly showed a keen interest in the draughting work that was being done on computer by the draughting office. Soon, he was sitting in when one of the draughtsmen did work at night and started learning how to use a computer, then later the actual draughting programme.
In July 2007, Thabo was given his first project – the renovation of an existing house. He drew up the plans and built a 3D model of the house on a computer. He was officially appointed as a junior draughtsman on the 1st of August 2007 and has since improved his computer skills and draughting abilities in leaps and bounds to such an extent that he is able to fully document a new project.
